The Young Directors Festival which ran from 2011 to 2014, put WA school students in the director’s chair, producing a 30 second anti-smoking television commercial. The advertisements increased student knowledge of the health and social issues associated with tobacco use, and provided a chance for them to develop and use skills in research, writing, planning, and media.

Made by youth, for youth, and voted by youth, they encouraged a smoke-free lifestyle in ways that would resonate strongly with their peers.
